Cements and resins used in dental prosthetics are a group of materials used to bond prosthetic elements, such as crowns, bridges, overlays, or dentures, to a patient's teeth. This group includes, among others, phosphate cements, zinc phosphate cements, and zinc polycarboxylate cements.

Phosphate cements are characterized by good adhesion to dentin, but their use can cause pain in patients due to their high acidity. Zinc phosphate cements have lower acidity, which reduces pain, but their adhesion to the tooth is lower. Zinc polycarboxylate cements combine the advantages of both previous types.

Dental impression materials are materials used to record a patient's bite. They take the form of rolls or sheets that, when placed in a patient's mouth, allow for a cast of the teeth and their arrangement to be obtained.

Prosthetic impression materials are materials used to obtain prosthetic impressions. They are divided into alginate and elastomer materials. Alginate materials are used to obtain preliminary impressions, while elastomeric materials are used for more precise impressions.

Temporary materials are used to temporarily fill dental cavities. This group includes temporary cements and temporary composites.

Prosthetic resins are materials used to produce prosthetic restorations such as crowns or bridges. They are characterized by high strength and aesthetics.
