Diamond dental drills for the contra-angle and the turbine
Dental drills are an essential and basic tool when performing endodontic procedures and accessing the inside of the tooth and root canal. Depending on the clinical situation, the dentist uses the appropriate size, shape, and sharpness to work as gently as possible. When choosing a dental drill, attention should be paid to whether it is an FG shank (for turbine) or an RA shank (for handpiece). The diameter of the FG shank (for turbine) is 1.6 mm, while the RA (for handpiece) is 2.35 mm, and a special adapter can also be used. The choice of drill also requires knowledge of the size of the head, its shape, and the thickness of the abrasive surface, depending on our needs. Special-purpose drills, such as those for removing adhesive, are also available.
Diamond drills are used to remove decay or prepare a cavity for filling, and this procedure is usually unpleasant and painful for the patient, hence the need for local anesthesia.
